Green waste charges introduced

In its 2023-24 Budget, Council introduced a charge for green waste dropped off at our waste sites.

Green waste charge commences Friday 1 September 2023

We are reminding residents that green waste charges starts this Friday 1 September for disposal of green waste at the landfill and transfer stations where green waste is accepted. The fee is set at $12 per cubic metre.

Rate payers will be offered one green waste voucher annually, in addition to the hard waste voucher as part of their rates notice this year. The voucher allows for free disposal of up to 1.5 cubic metres of green waste once a year, no refund or credit if you do not use the full 1.5 cubic metres in one transaction.

Green waste disposal is free for the month of November to help residents prepare for bushfire season.

Reusable product rebate

Council offers a rebate on several reusable products to help people reduce waste going to landfill. Worm farm and compost bins are included in the rebate scheme. For more information on how to compost or start a worm, visit Waste Education and Resources.
