East Gippsland Shire Council is preparing a new plan for the Paynesville town centre. It will guide the future development of the town centre - its land uses, buildings, vehicle and pedestrian facilities and public spaces - to create a vibrant focus of commercial and community activity

Paynesville Maritime Precinct (Slip Road) Master Plan

The East Gippsland Shire Council has recently appointed consultants to review the Urban Design Framework master plan for the Slip Road area and develop, for public comment, a revised master plan for the area.

When Council adopted the Paynesville Urban Design Framework in December 2006, it was decided that further consultation was required to refine the master plans included in the report.

The process now underway aims to review the master plan prepared as part of the Urban Design Framework, propose changes as considered necessary and recommend a new master plan that is practical, achievable and, where possible, meets the aspirations of the local community, business and other stakeholders.

One of the most important aspects of the project is the involvement of property owners, business operators and residents, so that everyone can contribute to a practical and achievable plan for the future.

A community workshop will be held on Thursday, 16^th July at the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club, commencing at 7pm.

A draft ‘Issues Paper’ has prepared by the consultants, which represents their initial analysis of the major issues affecting the future of the precinct.
