Planning Information
Council has a legislative responsibility under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 to assess planning permit applications and to maintain and administer the East Gippsland Planning Scheme. Last year alone, Council processed over 650 planning permit applications.

Council's planning service also extends to providing advice and assistance to potential applicants and others wishing to use the planning system. Above all, our planners aim to assist Council to facilitate development which is appropriate to its location and which minimises conflicts with neighbours and promotes long-term sustainability.
